PHILLY – YOU JUST CAN’T DO IT IN A DAY®
(AND DON’T FORGET YOUR AMERICAN EXPRESS® CARD)

GPTMC And American Express Partner To Promote Summer Visitation To The Philadelphia Region

Philadelphia, August 12, 2005 — The Philly – You Just Can’t Do It In A Day® Hotel Package is running strong for the third summer in a row, thanks in part to support from American Express, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation’s (GPTMC) official partner for this popular seasonal campaign. The sponsorship enables GPTMC to extend its summer advertising buy and gives American Express card members valuable information about the benefits of using their card throughout the Philadelphia area. GPTMC’s summer print ad campaign runs in local, regional and national publications, including The New York Times, Boston Globe, Asbury Park Press, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Al Dia, Philadelphia Style and Cooking Light, among others.

“American Express recognizes the significant impact tourism provides to a city’s health and growth,” said Dennis Martin, director of account development for American Express. “Our partnership with GPTMC will motivate more people to explore Philadelphia’s incredible restaurants, shops and attractions and to experience the region with their American Express® Card.”

Philadelphia’s residents and visitors can take advantage of the American Express My Life, My Card Web site, mylifemycard.com/philly, which lists exclusive online offers from many local and national merchants. Terms and conditions may apply.

The Philly – You Just Can’t Do It In A Day® Hotel Package is available for check-in from Thursday to Sunday, through September 18, 2005, at nearly 40 hotels in the Philadelphia region. The package includes two-night’s accommodations for two, free parking both nights and the Little Book of BENefits, offering discounts at more than 40 area restaurants, shops and attractions.

The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) builds the region’s economy and image through destination marketing to increase the number of visitors, the number of nights they stay and the number of things they do in the five-county region.
