VISITORS TO PHILADELPHIA’S
NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER CAN BE SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT
Interactive Exhibit Sure To Be
Especially Popular As Inauguration Day Draws Near
PHILADELPHIA, December 31, 2004 – George W. Bush won’t be the only person being sworn in as president in January 2005. Anyone who visits Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center can step up to the podium and recite the Presidential Oath of Office as family, friends and other museum visitors watch the action on a large-screen monitor above. The interactive exhibit, decorated with the presidential seal, is one of the museum’s most popular. To help preserve their memories, visitors can purchase a commemorative photo of this unique experience at the Museum Store. As an added bonus, the shop is offering a special 20% discount on all “Oath of Office” photos during the entire month of January.
Admission to the National Constitution Center is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors ages 62 and up, children ages 4-12 and military personnel. Group rates are also available. For more information, call 215.409.6600 or visit www.constitutioncenter.org.

The National Constitution Center, located at 525 Arch Street on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall, is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of the U.S. Constitution and its relevance to Americans’ daily lives. Opened on July 3, 2003, the museum dramatically tells the story of the Constitution from Revolutionary times to the present through more than 100 interactive, multimedia exhibits, film, photographs, text, sculpture and artifacts, and features a powerful, award-winning theatrical performance, “Freedom Rising”. The Center also houses the Annenberg Center for Education and Outreach, which serves as the hub for national constitutional education and debates, and as a home for visiting scholars. Also, serving as a nonpartisan forum for constitutional debate, the Center presents – without endorsement – programs that contain diverse viewpoints on a broad range of issues. For more information, call 215.409.6600 or visit www.constitutioncenter.org.
The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) builds the region’s economy and image through destination marketing to increase the number of visitors, the number of nights they stay and the number of things they do in the five-county region.
