The Brandywine Battlefield Park in Chester County, Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Philadelphia, was the site of the largest engagement of the Revolutionary War on September 11, 1777. The battle was fought between the Continental Army led by General George Washington and the British forces headed by General William Howe.
