Wicked, a New Musical Details Don’t miss the blockbuster musical Wicked, which returns to Philadelphia for a limited engagement, July 25 - August 19, 2007, at the Academy of Music.

Wicked is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz, set years before Dorothy ever arrives. Before that girl from Kansas visits Munchkinland, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these unlikely friends become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for one of the most spellbinding new musical in years.
