gophila.com/pressroom Serves As 24/7 Source For News, Photos, Videos, Contacts And More
Press Release
GREATER PHILADLEPHIA TOURISM MARKETING CORPORATION TO LAUNCH NEW PRESSROOM FOR MEDIA gophila.com/pressroom Serves As 24/7 Source For News, Photos, Videos, Contacts And More PHILADELPHIA, May 15, 2008 - On May 30, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) will launch the first phase of its new pressroom on gophila.com/pressroom. The site will be a more useful and efficient resource for journalists than ever before with integrated content, improved search capabilities, social media tools and more. And it will continue to offer the latest in Philadelphia tourism news, seasonal story ideas, high-resolution photos, GPTMC information and more. The pressroom’s enhancements will be completed in June 2008, when high-definition videos will appear on the site. Here are just some of the improvements to gophila.com/pressroom:
- Integration: The site will show content, photos and videos that are related to the selected search items. For example, those searching for the latest in dining news will find links to photos, videos, podcasts and other dining press releases all on one page.
- Tags: Every press release, photo and video will be tagged, resulting in better search results. That means those interested in images of performing arts venues can search by category and find all relevant photos available on the site.
- Press Kits: GPTMC’s online press kits will now be as compelling as the physical ones. Each group of releases will also incorporate related photos and videos to help tell the complete story, making online press kits a one-stop shop for popular topics.
- Administration: The high-tech pressroom will be easy to update on the backend. So, the site will be constantly updated, offering media a reason to check back regularly.
GPTMC used general pressroom research, Google Analytics reports and survey results from the media to guide the pressroom redevelopment. The tourism marketing company hired P’unk Avenue, a Philadelphia-based Internet design agency, in March 2008 to work on the project.
