A mini-magazine inserted in alternative weeklies in New York, Baltimore, Boston, Providence and Washington D.C. this summer highlights (among others) the uwishunu.com blog post about Queen Village’s Funhouse; South Street’s Sweet Jane vintage shop, Famous 4th Street Deli and ping-pong at Bob and Barbara’s bar; South Philly’s Victor Café; and the cheese cave in the Italian Market’s DiBruno Bros. These mini-magazines feature authentic Philly bloggers with their favorite insider revelations, as well as Philly artists’ renditions of blog post subjects from uwishunu.com.
Web TV:
In uwishunu’s first-ever Web TV series, engaged couple Audrey and Mark head over to East Passyunk, stopping by Beautiful World Syndicate for record shopping, Cantina Los Caballitos for drinks, Marra’s Restaurant for pizza and Roselena’s for dessert. In the next webisode, they venture through Bella Vista to check out some artwork, grab coffee at the Bean Exchange, get drinks at James and chow down at Horizons. And in the ninth episode, the couple goes to the Graduate Hospital neighborhood to explore the Schuylkill River Trail, grab appetizers at local hangout Grace Tavern and enjoy a delicious dinner at the Divan Turkish Kitchen. The Web TV episodes air weekly on philebrity.tv and uwishunu.com.

Here’s what South Philly residents and visitors have written about on the site:
Bella Vista:
- Blogger Emily reviews JAMES Restaurant, “a new addition to Bella Vista’s already vast culinary landscape,” where the food is “not to be taken lightly.”
- In Fleisher Art Memorial: Cheaper Than an MFA, Tom says “if you’ve ever thought about taking art classes…the Fleisher Art Memorial is the end to all of your excuses.”
- Emily suggests you swing past mom-and-pop spot Café Nhu Y for a tofu hoagie—a Vietnamese sandwich—in her blog post Bahn Mi at Cafe Nhu Y, Ya Heard?
Italian Market:
- A reader submits DiBruno’s Is Di Best and says in the heart of the Italian Market, DiBruno’s has everything to “satisfy every taste bud,” including heartthrobs at the counter, Proscuitto di Parma, Sarconne’s breadsticks and more cheese than you can imagine.
- In Fresh Fruit To Die For, Ben suggests Scott & Judy’s Produce Market for “the prettiest vegetables, the sweetest fruits, and the freshest herbs of any of the historic market’s vendors.”
Queen Village:
- In his post Number One Dog Runs: Mario Lanza Park, Queen Village, Mike muses “it should be no surprise that a dog run so close to Mummer territory boasts a jumbled, trans-breed free-for-all where mutts rule.”
- In Dept. of What’s That Smell: The Bread District, Mike raves about the delicious bread smell emanating from Vilotti Pisanelli and Petros bakeries in what he endearingly refers to as the “bread district.”
- In One Beer, One Chicken Salad, Caroline swears “the ubiquitous bartender’s Irish accent, the cozy atmosphere, the broad beer selection–and…the chicken salad” make For Pete’s Sake worth the trip.
Graduate Hospital:
- About Pumpkin Market, Alexa says, “the adorable and sunny renovated row home is cozy and comfortable. The food matches the ambiance and the staff are steeped in brotherly love.”
- Martin swears O’Connor Public Swimming Pool “is without a doubt Center City’s best-kept summer secret…With a blend of local families, neighborhood kids and Graduate Hospital med students, it is a great place to meet new people or bring a friend.”
