Chic is a colorful and hip indie shop specializing in

- Craig Drake – Like Philadelphia’s very own
Harry Winston, this family-run, appointment-only jewelry store
designs and carries only the finest jewelry, and that includes

- Knit Wit – Known for its new pieces —Marc by
Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Calypso — this 35-year-old shop also stocks
amazing estate jewelry in the hundreds to thousands of dollars

- Plage Tahiti – The younger sister of Knit Wit,
this boutique is a source for it-label jeans and going-out wear,

- Richard Kenneth – This walk-in closet of a
jewelry store carries the classically precious, from antique

- Samuel T. Freeman & Co. – America’s oldest
auction house — established in 1805 — specializes in very special
sales. Its annual schedule includes estates, fine art, and, once

- Sophisticated Seconds – Another second floor
shop, Sophisticated Seconds boasts consignments gleaned from
upscale clientele, plus a petite selection of mint-condition

- Blendo – Filled to overflowing with retro
furnishings, artisan-made jewelry, cocktail sets and kitsch, this
store has a fun-to-explore rack of dresses, coats and more. 1002

- Halloween – Practically hidden from view,
Halloween specializes in custom and unusual finds. Approximately 10

- Lucy – As cute as its name, this Antique Row
walk-up boutique displays a grandmother’s attic worth of hats,

- Anastacia’s Antiques – This classic dealer
displays all manners of antiques, which includes cases of

- Antiquarian’s Delight – Individually operated
stalls fill two floors of a former synagogue to form this
fun-as-a-flea-market source for everything vintage. 615 S. 6th

- Forbidden Planett – It’s worth venturing into
this downstairs boutique, where owner Johnny Columbo outfits his
clients in once-in-a-lifetime garments and accessories, most of
which bear celebrity-worthy labels from Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Louis

- Lost + Found – Owned by a thoroughly hip
mother-daughter pair, this boutique offers reasonably priced basics
— whisper-thin tee-shirts for the girls, Penguin shirts for the

- ME and Blue – This upstairs shop has fast
become the go-to source for day-to-night outfits — accessorized and
styled with vintage touches that mingle with the latest fashions.

- Sioux Zanna Messix – The eponymous boutique of
an Old City designer features the owner’s refashioned fashions:
vintage furs turned into collars and handbags, vintage jewelry

- Sugarcube – Petite, neat and chic, this store
seamlessly pairs perfect vintage with the latest styles from

sells the latest from Anna Sui, Lauren Moffat and Lee Angel — and

- Vagabond – One of the first shops to make Old
City fashionable, Vagabond belongs to two designers and showcases

- Bargain Thrift Center – Although most of this
shop is no-frills thrift, a small section has been dedicated to
amazingly well priced vintage. Steals from Saks, Pucci and Gucci

- Fashion Forward Designer Resale Boutique –
Ayana Mitchell’s gallery-like Chestnut Hill boutique displays
consigned couture like artwork. Tags reveal names like Prada,
Chanel, Hermès — and vintage pieces (usually about a dozen or so in

- Past and Present – This Mount Airy store knows
that not everyone takes vintage seriously, thus markets its finds
both as fashion and costume. During the holidays, it sells and

Philadelphia Region:
- Annette Brandt & Son – It’s hard to
believe this jewelry-laden Main Line shop is a little more than two
years old. Its cases are positively layered with a
can’t-take-it-all-in selection of very fun costume to very fine

- Chelsea – Among this shop’s new California
styles from Rip Curl, Tool, Body Glove and Split are a
get-it-while-they’re-here vintage boots, fabrics, Gucci and Fendi

- Night Owl Trading Post – Fitting right in with
New Hope’s reputation as a Woodstock-ish outpost, this vintage shop
