About _
The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC)
builds the region's economy and image through destination marketing
to increase the number of visitors, the number of nights they stay
and the number of things they do in the five-county region.
GPTMC's website, gophila.com, is designed to advance a positive
image of the greater Philadelphia region, increase awareness of the
region as a tourist destination, encourage potential visitors (not
necessarily reached by traditional advertising and marketing) to
stay overnight or longer, facilitate travel arrangements and travel
planning, and, ultimately, to catalyze the region's economy through
travel-related spending and overall image enhancement.

Website FAQs Answers
1. Why isn't my favorite restaurant/bar listed on your
site?_
Restaurant and Bar Inclusion
It would be nearly impossible and very impractical for
gophila.com to feature every restaurant and bar in the Greater
Philadelphia region on its website. There are simply too many of
them. Nor is there a need for such a comprehensive catalog.
Gophila.com, instead, focuses on giving our online visitors a
taste of the Philadelphia restaurant and dining scene. Our goal is
to include enough information to effectively convey why the
vibrancy, diversity and excellence of the region's dining scene is
renowned across the country and to give visitors a starting point
from which they can set out to explore Philadelphia's vast culinary
prowess on their own.
To this end, the editors of gophila.com have tried to capture
the essence of Philadelphia dining with a sampling of some of the
most visitor-friendly restaurants in the region. These
include many of the most distinguished, most well known and most
distinctly Philadelphian restaurants, cafes, bars and eateries in
Philadelphia and Its Countryside.
To gauge an establishment's visitor-friendliness, the
editors weighed several factors, which include but are not limited
to: location (Rouge's location, on Rittenhouse
Square within a five minute walk of numerous hotels, is a
visitor-friendly location); atmosphere;
quality of cuisine; quality of
experience (evaluates potential dining experiences, taking
into account many variables like service, value, etc.); and
uniqueness (you can go to a Cheesecake Factory
anywhere in America - the only place you can find Pat's King of
Steaks, Django or Le Bec Fin is in Philadelphia).
This last criterion is very heavily weighed; we want to make
sure visitors know that they should make a point to experience
authentic Philly flavor during their time here. So, for example, if
they're looking to get a few sandwiches for lunch, we encourage,
with our listings, for them to skip Subway and proceed directly to
Sarcone's, Shank's and Evelyn's, Chickie's, Primo's or Salumeria
for authentic Philadelphia hoagies.
And while gophila.com strives to be as inclusive as possible in
its restaurant and dining section, we simply can not profile every
restaurant and bar in the region, no matter how visitor-friendly
they might be. We have to reserve the right to include and exclude
establishments according to our editorial guidelines and
resources.
However, if you have a suggestion for a restaurant or bar for us
to feature, please suggest it to our editors, and we'll be sure to
check it out.

check it out.

3. Can I submit an event for inclusion on gophila.com?
_
Yes. Please go to our Events Calendar and select the "Submit an
event" link at the bottom of the page. Then follow the four step
process and your event will be submitted to our Events Calendar,
which is powered by PhillyFunGuide.
We also suggest you submit visitor-friendly events via email to
our editors, so that we
may determine if there are other sections of the site in which it
would be appropriate.

4. Can I advertise on gophila.com? _

various reasons. There are, however, several other ways to work
with GPTMC. Please email
