Luxury: Evening Entertainment
Almost 80 years after the American Revolution, architect Napoleon LeBrun won a design competition to erect Philadelphia's Academy of Music and modeled his 1857 structure on Milan’s great opera house, La Scala.
For the century and a half since, it has been the nucleus of the performing arts in Philadelphia. The 21st Century brought the renowned Kimmel Center and along with it the Avenue of the Arts became a veritable destination for musical excellence year-round.
