Outsider Tip
The Alpine Restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on weekends, complete with beautiful views of the mountain.
Winter sports may be the main draw at Spring Mountain, a regional ski resort, but the mountain features other outdoor experiences throughout the year.
You can try a Canopy Tour, a zipline trip up into the treetops for an up close view of nature, go rock-climbing on a 45-foot tower or take a turn at geo-caching.
If you're in great shape and looking for something unique, try the hour-long hike up the mountain followed by the two and a half hour trip through the treetops on the “Vertigo” canopy tour.
COME PREPARED
Tour prices vary. Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. Canopy tours are designed for people who are in good to moderate health, whose weight range is from 70 to 250 pounds and who are able to climb stairs unassisted.
DON'T MISS
The night canopy or "Heart of Darkness" tour, which runs through early fall, takes you up into the trees for a chance to experience a bird's- eye view in the still of the night. The tour ends with a ride down the mountain in a hay wagon and an apple cider and ginger cookie snack.
