Outsider Tip
It’s free to enter the scarecrow contest, but registration is required. Call (610) 666-5593 ext 106.
There’s nothing like the mouthwatering smell of apples simmering over an open fire to mark the start of the harvest season, and this festival makes the most of it. You’ll get a chance to press apples into cider, step up to the fire and stir the apple butter and take samples of both home to your kitchen.
But apples are just the beginning. Adults as well as kids enjoy the annual scarecrow-judging contest and corn-husk-doll making. You’ll see live reptiles and learn their habits. Live music runs throughout the day, and you won’t want to miss the bake sale.
COME PREPARED
The festival is rain or shine, so dress appropriately. Parking is free.
DON'T MISS
The Audubon museum and gift shop, featuring Audubon prints and various nature related items, will also be open throughout the day.
