It did not take long after opening in 1995 for Warmdaddy's to become an Old City institution. In 2006, it moved to a new location along Columbus Boulevard in South Philadelphia.
Professing to celebrate the food, culture and music that embody southern rhythm and blues, Wamdaddy’s does exactly that on a nightly basis.
In regards to fare, the menu is filled with southern classics like creamy mac+cheese, juicy ribs, spicy catfish and hearty jambalaya. You can sit either at the bar or in the main dining room and be in good position for music viewing regardless. The spacious bar also offers a good selection of beers and specialty cocktails including the ever popular Daddy Long Leggs Lemonade and Carolina Rum Punch.
As for the music, legendary blues, zydeco, R&B and soul artists such as Koko Taylor, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Tito Jackson, Junior Wells, Johnny "Clyde" Copeland, and the Blind Boys of Alabama have all played here. Warmdaddy’s is literally a place where you can go and see a living legend and an amazing rising star in the same night.
Evenings are for grown-ups, but Warmdaddy’s goes family-friendly with a weekly Sunday Supper, featuring live Gospel music.
