Macy's in Center City has become a floral wonderland with its inaugural Flower Show.
Featuring stunning landscapes, celebrity guests and renowned floral designers, the Flower Show, whose 2009 theme is Dream in Color, transforms the Center City store into a vibrant, colorful dreamscape, showcasing unique garden environments overflowing with thousands of exotic trees and flowering plants.
To help navigate the horticultural display, Macy's will offer complimentary, 15-minute guided tours, starting at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., throughout the show's run. During the tour, you'll learn all about this year's flowers and plants while getting behind-the-scenes glimpses at The Eagle and the Wanamaker Organ.
Macy's will be closed on Easter Sunday (April 12). The event is hosted in partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
History
When Macy's came to Center City several years ago, the department store reinvigorated the 1300 block of Market Street and reintroduced many of the customary events that Wanamaker's once hosted in that location.
The latest tradition to have been revived by Macy's is the annual in-store flower show, a much-loved event that should return for years to come.
