Temple Gallery of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art gives Temple University a presence in the heart of Old City’s gallery scene. It’s known for putting on group shows on intriguing themes: Soft Cell: The Bonds of Comfort explored the hidden meanings of chairs, carpets and chatchkas whilst in Dreams of the Void artists contemplated our relationship to outer space.
Artists featured here have included sculptor Martin Puryear, German artists Suscha and Cora Korte, innovative architect Peter Eisenman, and muralist David McShane. Temple’s Tyler School of Art has two galleries on the Tyler campus in Elkins Park, and another on Temple’s main campus in the Architecture/Engineering building.
