Insider Tip
Center City Sips is a great opportunity to sample cocktails and appetizers at new restaurants like Palace at the Ben and Mantra — or you could also visit local favorites like Devil's Alley and Brasserie Perrier.

The great news is, with an entire summer full of Wednesdays, you can try as many restaurants and bars as you'd like.

The summer of 2008 in Center City will be extra happening, thanks to a full roster of special lunchtime concerts and awesome happy hours — all part of the Center City District’s Summer in the City programming.

Center City Sips

Catch up with old friends and make a few new ones as Center City’s best bars and restaurants host the summer's happiest hour every Wednesday, June 4 – August 27, from 5-7 p.m.

Enjoy $4 cocktails, $3 wine and $2 beers and half-priced appetizers at more than 60 participating bars and restaurants.

Visit the Center City District for a complete list of bars and restaurants.

Sidewalk Soundbites Lunchtime Concerts

And if you're walking around the city earlier in the day, why not take in a leisurely lunchtime concert? Enjoy your summer afternoon with a little musical accoutrement.

The musical styles will vary from week to week, so while one week you may hear Calypso and Steel Drums, the next you could be grooving to jazz, classic rock, blues or reggae.

The concert series begins on June 4 and runs through August 27 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at various locations throughout Center City. Visit the Center City District for a complete concert schedule.
