The Experience
Baseball As America is the first major exhibition to examine the relationship between baseball and American culture. Featuring more than 500 artifacts from nearly 170 years of baseball, the exhibition tells the interwoven stories of the growth of a nation and that of "America's game."
The exhibit includes some of baseball's most storied artifacts, including: Jackie Robinson's 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers jersey; record-setting bats used by Babe Ruth and Roger Maris; and “Shoeless” Joe Jackson’s shoes.
Drawn from the renowned collection of The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Baseball As America appeals to a broad spectrum of the public — from children playing catch for the first time to the life-long fan.
Baseball in Philadelphia
The Baseball as America exhibition includes a special section dedicated to the rich baseball history of Philadelphia, including the Negro Leagues, the Philadelphia A's and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Some of the Philly memorabilia includes: Richie Ashburn’s spikes worn in 1950; Jimmy Rollins' helmet from his historic 36-game hit streak; and the 1980 Phillies World Championship ring.
So visit the National Constitution Center and root, root, root for the home team!
