Illuminare is located in Philadelphia’s picturesque Fairmount neighborhood, just blocks from the Philadelphia Art Museum and the historic Eastern State Penitentiary.
Over the years, the family-owned restaurant has won awards for its famous thin crust pizzas and charming ambiance.
Illuminare has a beautiful open kitchen, with a granite bar surrounding the pie-producing brick oven. The dining room is intimate, with art deco accents. In the back, there’s a great patio for alfresco dining — it even has a fountain.
No trip to Illuminare would be complete without trying one of their delicious pizzas. With more than ten variations to choose from, there will surely be one that catches your eye. Favorites include the Bianca (with asparagus, Crimini mushrooms, tomatoes, mozzarella, provolone, and garlic-infused olive oil), the Roasted Chicken (with spinach, roasted peppers, roasted chicken and fontina cheese), and the classic Margherita with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil.
In addition to their famous brick oven pizzas, Illuminare also serves delicious Italian cuisine, including salads, antipastos, pasta, seafood and more.
