Outsider Tip
For fishing fun, check out the Stony Creek Anglers. The two picnic pavilions can be reserved, in advance, and no fee is required for their use.
The grounds of this 690-acre county park offer a refreshing natural escape from the urban and suburban communities that surround it. The gentle topography of the area makes the setting perfect for walking or biking and the wooded landscape provides some opportunities for bird watching.
Also, there is abundant fishing in the Stony Creek, which runs through the park. And you'll probably want to check out one of the summer evening concerts as well. They're held regularly at the park's two large picnic pavilions nestled in a scenic grove.
COME PREPARED
Open from dawn until dusk, seven days a week. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted and dogs must be on a leash.
DON'T MISS
Regular evening concerts begin in June. A complete concert schedule is available on the park's website.
