Outsider Tip
In the cold winter months, duck into the charming little Fernery, a period glass greenhouse beloved by Victorians, for a warming glimpse of lush, green growth. The Rose Garden peaks in June.

Support Morris Arboretum
The Arboretum could not accomplish all that it does without the help of its members and volunteers, both of whom play an integral role in the organization. Membership to the Arboretum is a great way to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the garden as many times as you wish, while supporting an institution dedicated to preserving and improving our environment. There are also several volunteer oportunities.

Kids' Stuff
Youngsters love to visit Ariel and Titania, the pair of resident Royal Swans at the pond, and hunt for the dinosaur in the Fernery as well as a visit to the creek-side log cabin.

Sculpture Garden
A treasured site for horticulturists, the Morris Arboretum now includes an excellent collection of outdoor sculpture, including works by such well-known artists as George Rickey, Scott Burton, George Sugarman and Richard Torchia.

Stroll through the classical English landscape structures and sculpture gardens at Morris Arboretum, a 92-acre Victorian arboretum in the Northwestern corner of Philadelphia. Watch for birds as you enjoy the elegant beauty of the 19th-century grounds, complete with a formal rose garden, majestic old trees and unusual plants from North America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

Kids love the garden railway, which trundles through a miniature landscape, and delight in the hidden tunnel underneath the Mercury loggia. On some summer evenings, adults can bring a blanket and a picnic, pick a lush spot on the lawn and enjoy a soothing evening of live jazz.

Autumn Happenings

Morris Arboretum celebrates its Fall Festival on Sunday, October 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Don't miss this afternoon of autumn fun that's become an annual tradition for many families. Make your own scarecrow, paint a pumpkin, sample different varieties of apples and catch a musical performance from "Flumpa the Frog." The Arboretum is a beautiful place to enjoy the changing seasons, for adults and children alike.
