Outsider Tip
Green Lane Nature Center is best known for educational and recreational programming for families and organized groups. The facility can be rented for private events.
Volunteer
Volunteers and interns are always welcome, including through the Center’s partnership with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Call (215) 234-8497 for more information.
Located in Green Lane Park, the Green Lane Nature Center is the environmental education facility for the Montgomery County Parks and Heritage Services department. The center offers programs across a variety of interests, including birding, gardening, nature crafts, cross country skiing and other subjects specifically designed for children.
Learning about nature will be fun for children and adults alike, with a wildlife observation room, a butterfly garden, a sensory garden and a diorama room on site. There are special rooms for children, where they can touch anything they see as well as a library and classrooms.
COME PREPARED
Most programs are free of charge and picnic tables and grills are available on a first come, first serve basis. Pets and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
DON'T MISS
The Maple Sugar Magic festival in late February, and the Aqua Fair, a celebration of the local watershed held in the middle of May.
