Outsider Tip
Have your friends and family meet you at the finish line, Lenape Park, where they'll be able to join in on the fun. If starting from Philadelphia, metered parking is free between 3rd and 7th Streets and Chestnut and Race Streets for the day of the race.
Help Fight Cancer
The American Cancer Society is the national, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Their website is full of ways that you can help.
More than 4,000 riders are expected for the 2006 event on Sunday, July 9. It’s broken into four distances so everyone can participate:
- A short 22 mile course starting in Hammonton, NJ
- A more challenging 42.7 miler starting at Cherry Hill East High School
- A 57.8 mile ride leaving from Philadelphia’s side of the Ben Franklin Bridge
- And if you’re up for a serious challenge, there’s a 100-mile course
All riders finish at Lenape Park in New Jersey’s Pine Barrens, where you’re invited to swim, enjoy a refreshing shower and feast on some fabulous barbecue.
COME PREPARED
Registration is required. Except for the Ben Franklin Bridge and Admiral Wilson Boulevard, routes will not be closed to car traffic, so be prepared to share the road.
