Just in time for the release of the feature film Star Trek, The Franklin Institute is hosting the East Coast premiere of Star Trek: The Exhibition.
This hands-on, interactive exhibition takes you inside the world of Captain Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew aboard the Starship Enterprise while celebrating the creative spirit of science fiction that gave rise to many of today's modern marvels.
Star Trek contains 200+ Star Trek objects — the world's most comprehensive collection — spanning 40+ years, five television series and 10 films in the Star Trek saga.
And science fans of all ages can learn from this exhibition: Quantum teleportation, inertia, rocket propulsion, relativity and astronomy are just a few of the scientific principles and theories demonstrated throughout Star Trek.
Highlights of the exhibition include:
– Bridge of the Starship Enterprise: A detailed recreation of the bridge from the U.S.S. Enterprise as featured in the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series.
– Infinite Diversity Gallery: Visitors can examine the award-winning design and craftsmanship in some of Star Trek's most amazing alien creatures, including Klingons, Cardassians, Shapeshifters and the Borg.
– The History of the Future Gallery: Features a timeline of the entire Star Trek saga, placed side-by-side with historic moments in space exploration
– Simulator Experience: A thrilling ride in a Federation shuttle
