With street parking rates in Center City at $2/hour, parking garages and lots can sometimes be a better deal. All the following deals are courtesy of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
On-Street Parking Deals
On Wednesday evenings, meter parking is free in Center City after 5 p.m. (on the rush hour streets, it's free after 6:30 p.m.). The boundaries are from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River and from Bainbridge Street to Spring Garden Street.
There is no enforcement of parking meters on major holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day and Memorial Day). On all other holidays, the PPA tickets unpaid meters.
Every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, all metered parking is free after 11 a.m.
