Parkway Green
Parkway Green: Bringing the park to the city
Other Information
Open year-round
Majestically crowning the sycamore allée that lines the Benjamin Franklin Parkway is the Philadelphia Museum of Art, whose inner beauty is enhanced by its artistically landscaped exterior. The green spaces that surround the museum link Center City to Fairmount Park, the world’s largest urban park.

Unusual trees and grasses dot the 25 acres of museum grounds and its rocky ramparts. Elegant Paulownia trees inhabit the niches that flank the main entrance in the East Courtyard. They are rimmed with smokebush and accented with magnolias. Two fountains and grand sculptures complete the scene.
