Naked Chocolate Café is a new chocolate boutique and dessert café on Walnut Street in Center City. Meaning, you can stop by to marvel at the sweets, pick your favorites and take them with you or you can visit for dessert itself and actually enjoy some of the delectables on display immediately. (Of course, technically, you could do both…)
The interior of Naked Chocolate Café is warm and inviting, featuring décor highlighted by cotton candy pinks and caramel browns. The 32-seat European-style café and lounge area boasts comfy couches — a perfect place to relax after dinner for an absolutely amazing dessert.
All of Naked’s confections are made daily in the open kitchen and chocolate factory area. Among them, changing collections of chocolate ganaches and truffles made from the finest milk, dark and white chocolates. The truffle collection alone ranges from antioxidant blueberry, pomegranate, green tea and red wine to more traditional flavors of praline, hazelnut and caramel.
Then there’s the "cocktail collection," which includes champagne, single malt, cognac and dark rum flavored chocolates. There are also plenty of surprises for the palate, e.g. the savory collection of chocolates infused with exotic flavors like sweet Indian curry, lemon verbena, thyme, wasabi, chili pepper and lavender.
The dessert lounge features a la carte items like hand-iced cupcakes with buttercream icing and just baked brownies and cookies. Other desserts include macaroons, a selection of mini cheesecakes, homemade tortes, creme brulees, individual tableside chocolate fondue and classic sundaes and milkshakes made with Thomas Sweet Ice Cream.
