Established in 1968 as the first caviar and vodka bar in Philadelphia, the Happy Rooster is a legendary Philadelphia boîte featuring a chalkboard menu that changes daily.
The storied restaurant and bar has been returned to its original decor after a recent renovation. The restored interior, featuring brass fixtures, leather upholstery and dark Brazilian Rosewood, offers a charming and intimate dining atmosphere.
The menu is ambitious and spontaneous. Chalkboard specials change daily and the freshest seasonal ingredients are utilized. Look out for items like truffled chicken wings with a garlic confit, a chicken Coq au Vin, and a tender marinated skirt steak.
The long, low-lit bar at the Happy Rooster is also a great place to enjoy a cocktail or a few beers with friends.
