Ever wonder what an artist’s studio really looks like? For the tenth year in a row, Philadelphia Open Studio Tours allows everyone a chance to see for themselves. For two weekends in October, artists around the city open their studios to curious visitors, inviting them to talk, check out how they work, and buy artwork if they're interested.
These tours are free and self-guided and will occur on: October 3 - 4, 2009 in neighborhoods East of Broad Street and October 10 - 11, 2009 in neighborhoods West of Broad Street.
You can pick up a special Artist Directory and Map at locations throughout the city or download it at POST's website and start planning your own itinerary. With more than 230 artists participating, there’s a huge range of arts and crafts to take in, from painting and photography to quilts, ceramics, light sculpture and more.
